These are intelligent systems which are capable of reporting far more than just a fire or fault condition. They are able to provide pre alarm warnings when smoke or heat levels reach a pre set level enabling investigation of the activation to take place prior to a full evacuation alarm and fire brigade signalling taking place.

Each device talks back to the panel and has its own text location. This ensures that the end user and the fire brigade can locate the cause of the activation in the shortest possible time.

With addressable systems we have a greater variety of detectors at our disposal, so it is usually possible to engineer out potential false alarms and still provide optimum cover, the specialist devices include:

• Laser devices to provide high sensitivity detection with the benefits of addressability.
• Combined heat/smoke devices to combat dust / fume issues.
• Detectors with ultra fine filters for flour mills/ food processing/coal mines.
• Detectors incorporating heat/optical smoke/ infra red and Carbon Monoxide sensors to ensure that a true fire signature is present before an alarm is raised.

Because each device has its own address it is possible to programme the panel to provide outputs that are dependant on the device in alarm – so reducing the disruption and inconvenience factor to the rest of the site.
