Conventional systems are normally found in smaller properties and when activated they just provide zone indication.
Although we can supply zoned systems up to 32 zones it usually becomes cost effective to consider addressable systems after 8 zones due to the savings that can be made on the wiring costs.
We can provide systems with the sounders run separately to the detectors/manual call points or systems where the sounders are on the same pair of zone cables as the rest of the equipment.
If a conventional system goes into fire it will only give you a zone location and it will be down to the individual to search that area – this can be both time consuming and dangerous.
Because the panel does not know which device has operated it is not possible to integrate the panel afterwards to look at the fire and fault log, this can cause problems if the end user keeps resetting the system without finding out the cause.
Conventional systems provide limited or no programming options – therefore they are not particularly flexible.
With conventional detection devices we do not have the same facilities or options available to enable us to engineer false alarms out whilst still providing optimum cover. |
